Computer Equipment

These are the minimum requirements to use the Online Diploma:


PC Mac
Operating System (OS) Windows 95/98, 2000, NT, XP, Linux OS 7 or later
*Processor
800MHz or faster processor

PowerPC® G3 500MHz or faster processor

Intel Core™ Duo 1.33GHz or faster processor

*RAM 128 MB minimum 128 MB minimum
Modem speed 28.8 kbps or faster 28.8 kbps or faster
Accessories Printer Printer

The Online Diploma site is best viewed with a monitor resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.

*To check your computer's Processor speed and RAM then follow these steps:

Click on

=> 1. Start
=> 2. Settings
=> 3. Control Panel
=> 4. System

You'll see the System Properties dialog box. Look at the bottom right to see for example:

  • Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz
    2.79 GHz, 0.99 GB of RAM

Software

You must have Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint installed on your computer.

Links that don't work

In some cases you may find that the links in this site do not function, so:

  • For internal links (eg. See 1.1) then close the browser, login to the subject and try again.
  • For external links (eg. See DIAC - Form 1219i) go to the home page of the site (ie. http://www.immi.gov.au) and search for "Form 1219i". This may provide the relevant link.
    Alternatively, you may find that a particular website is not accessible at that time.

Poor access to the Internet

You may experience low connection speeds or an intermittent connection. In such cases we advise you to:

  • Print the subject content.
    - You can print each section from the Subject Index page.
